Dealing with the media - and making it work in your favour. Learn from our experience!
Being caught in the eye of a media storm is not a pleasant experience. Sometimes even the most experienced media performers can get caught off guard when they are least expecting it.
I know, because I have been there! As both interegator and interegated!
So Red Alert Media's 'Media Training' courses are designed to make sure you or your organisation are fully prepared should you suddenly find yourselves propelled into the news spotlight.
The courses generally run from 10am to 5pm, and deal with all issues. Your tutors will be made up of a team of two, sometimes three (depending on numbers, and the requirements of the day), experienced journalists, broadcasters and camera operators.
The day covers the written and the broadcast media, from taking or handling an initial Press inquiry, to finding yourself preparing for a live appearance on radio and television. We tell you what works, and what doesn't work, how to deal with a tricky situation, and how to cope thereafter - and hopefully turn the situation in your favour.
Our media training days can also be fitted around your requirements - we have worked with clients specifically preparing for broadcast interviews, and wanting to learn the tips and techniques of for a specific form of TV appearance. We have worked with clients who have never had to deal with the media before, but want to learn so they can maximise the potential of promoting their company; we have worked with organisations and individuals preparing for some anticipated breaking news; and we have spent time with regular media performers, who just needed some fine tuning!
Yes, we make it fun - but we also work hard, and make sure you leave feeling far more confident about dealing with media enquiries than when you first turned up.
"Just a quick word of thanks for a great day and a fascinating insight into the media. I thought I knew quite a lot when I turned up, but I left having learnt an enormous amount from you guys, and feel much more confident for spending the day with you, and picking up all your tips and advice." Leon Blanch, Head of Communications, Boylesports.
"Can I just thank you very much for the recent media training days you did with us. Great stuff: you made it interesting, informative and fun. The feedback has been fantastic, and now we all look forward to reaping the benefit of what we learnt from you." Andy McKenzie, Marketing Manager, Spreadex
