Archery Eggheads prepare for their moment in the spotlight!

Archery GB is to feature on the popular BBC 2 quiz programme Eggheads.

Naomi Folkard, Danielle Brown, Ollie Holt, Hilda Gibson and Graham Potts will be flying the flag for British archery when they appear before the cameras at Television Centre in London, on March 12, though it is not yet known when the edition they are in will be broadcast to the nation.

The 'soon to be famous'  five took part in an audition in Birimingham earlier this month, and made such an impression with programme producers they were quickly informed they were being invited to appear on air.

The programme is a general knowledge quiz in which teams from all over the UK battle to beat the formidable 'Eggheads', made up of a team of five of the country's best known and most successful quiz contestants.

"It's wonderful news and we're all very excited," said Peter Jones, who has organised Archery GB's appearance on the show. "This is a great coup for archery, and will give us the opportunity to promote the sport to a regular audience of 3 million viewers. But it will be great fun for those taking part in the programme, and of course, we'll be doing out very best to beat the Eggheads!

"We have a nice mix of Olympic and Paralympic archers in Naomi and Dani, Ollie from coaching and admin, Hilda from the team management side of things, and Graham who will be representing the judges."

Archery GB is the first sports governing body to be represented on Eggheads.
